I don't know what I think of this gray? but since I'm old and gray I guess it's ok for awhile.
wow I like it! Is that your new house? Theres something about it that kinds looks like our old house but I cant picture that row of windows but then theres the purple tree like the plum tree and that window looks like the bakery window and it's brown and white...and oh mercy help me out of my misery!
Okay it's an hour later and I've decided that is the old Porter house. It looks like theres a stone wall around the bottom and that throws me off. Those windows are the front room windows but the attic window dont really line up. But still...it has to be the old home place. Okay I guess I'm still blubbering indecisively so I'm out of here.
Hi,
This is Kim Glenn and yeah, there is a big resemblance to the old home place. Is that what the wizard was about?? Bringing the old to the new?? I was in Oregon in Sept. and drove by there and what memories. Glad they painted it that hideous color though because now it truly isn't yours anymore.
Hope you are all doing OK. We are anxious for spring here. Take care. Love, Kim
awww...the old house...i was just catching up on your site cuz our pc is down...it's funny cuz just this week i was thinking about you and all your many cookbooks...don't even know why it came to mind! and, ya, i like your new look...quite classy!
Wow, Mrs. Darling who's getting old and forgetful? This picture, my friend, is of the old home place at 41707 S.E. Porter Rd. Estacada, OR 97023. See, I can even remember the address. It was taken by a real estate man, when he listed our place for sale. He loaded them on my computer so I would have them. One of the reasons it looks kinda funny is because it was taken with a wide angle lens, which gives kinda a rounded effect. The tall windows on the left side are in the end of the living room. The big window you see on the right is our bedroom window. The bakery goes out to the right, but you can hardly see it because of the bean tree. The left window upstairs was the peach room, the right window was Mart's bedroom,. and of course above that is the attic window.
Kim it is so great to hear from you. Hmmm, it seems like I shoud recognize the person it the middle of your picture. It does'nt quite look like you.
Thanks, Becky, old ladies like to be "classy"

I like the gray, it's easy on the eyes... and I love the photo of the old Porter place... I have so many good memories of that place. I also remember being a picky little eater when we stayed with you guys one time... something I'm trying hard to prevent with my own children!
Wow, Aunt Virginia has a weblog... what's the world coming to?
