November's mornings have been frosty and cold, reminding me a song we used to sing as a child....
-
- Jackie Frost, Jackie Frost,
- came in the night.
- Left the meadows that he crossed,
- all gleaming white.
- Painted with his silver brush
- every window pane.
- Kissed the leaves and made them blush,
- blush and blush again.
-
- Jackie Frost, Jackie Frost,
- crept around the house.
- Sly as a silver fox,
- quiet as a mouse.
- Out dear little Jenny came,
- blushing like a rose.
- Up jumped Jackie Frost
- and kissed her little nose.
The last week or two we have bee greeted each night with a visit from Jackie Frost. Getting up each morning to clear skies and frost upon the ground reminds one of cozy winter days, a warm fire and a good book.We got back from PA. rested a day or two and then we packed and went to Lincoln City, OR to be with 5 of our children and their children, a grandson and his wife also a granddaughter, for a fun packed 3 nights and 4 days in a very large ocean front house. ( November 15 - 18 2007) The weather outside was true Oregon weather, (rainy, foggy, and windy) but inside there was stories, songs and laughter, and most of all family. We met with one of the children's school mates at a grocery store and she came over for awhile one evening, also a friend of the family and his wife stayed a couple nights. We shopped at the outlet mall, watched the ocean from the big windows that lined the one side of the house, told stories, sang and the children remembered stories from when they were young, and sat around a warm fire in the fireplace. God is so good and I treasure each moment I get to see and be with the children. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (a week early) and I couldn't help but think how blest we are to have plenty (and more than enough) to eat, while most of the world is hungry.Spending Sunday night at Mrs. Darling, we came home on Monday. Tuesday Pop went back west 2 hours to pick up my granddaughter, Elsie,
She had spent some time with her brother and his wife. Elsie flew out from PA. to help me for about 5 weeks. Two days after she got here was Thanksgiving Day and even though we had an early Thanksgiving at the coast, the closer the day approached, the more I realized we had to have a small dinner here. Small it was as there were only 3 of us, But we had a small turkey, mashed 3 potato's (with some left over) cooked a couple sweet potato's and enjoyed all the trimmings. I had to take a picture of the table set for 3 to go along with my pictures of Thanksgivings past when I would set up tables for 36 to 48 in my large house on the ridge above Eagle Creek, when we lived near Estacada, OR. and my family was all home. Thanksgiving was a time when all the cousins, aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas in my family would gather at my house each year for thanksgiving. The memories are priceless. Thanksgiving week being past, we packed again and headed for Salt Lake City for a lo-o-o-o-ng day at the doctor. We arrived home at 3PM today, Thursday. November 29, 2007. HOW MANY ARE YOUR WORKS, O LORD! IN WISDOM YOU MADE THEM ALL; THE EARTH IS FULL OF YOUR CREATURES, THERE IS THE SEA, VAST AND SPACIOUS. Psalm 104: 24 & 25a NIVGIVE THANKS TO THE LORD, CALL ON HIS NAME; MAKE KNOWN AMONG THE NATIONS WHAT HE HAS DONE. SING TO HIM, SING PRAISE TO HIM; TELL OF ALL HIS WONDERFUL ACTS. GLORY IN HIS HOLY NAME; LET THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD REJOICE. Psalm 105:1,2,&3 NIV

Hi, welcome back. So good to hear from you again. I'm sure you are enjoying your granddaughter's visit. When we didn't hear from you for so long, I snuck over to Mrs. Darling's site to check on you. I hope you are doing alright. I was tempted to run up to PA or MD to meet you and give you a hug, while you were east, but we were real busy here, too. God Bless!
Good to hear from you again.
