  • IT'S COLD

Today dawns bright and clear, the sun is shinning and it is beautiful outside, but the temp is 1 degree which me thinks one will possible stay indoors if at all possible.  But guess what I'm hoping to go out this afternoon if at all possible.   You see I've got a job (well not really,) but my son-in -law is in the process of opening a "Bent and Dent" grocery store.  But the truck loads of stuff they bring in must be sorted.....the cereal here, the soup there, the things that can be sold in that box, and the things that can't be sold in this box.... but my job (self-appointed) is to sort the toys, would you believe they all are made in China?  I take my walker in, turn it around and sit on the seat (it's a deluxe model, remember)  Anyhow I sit at a table and the little ones bring me boxes of toys to sort.  I went down today again and priced.  I'm tired when I get home but I'm not depressed.  I think sometime "Dear Pop" protects me too much.  My daughter has 2 little girls and they are my helpers, they are so dear as they help me and try to understand me. They do better sometimes than adults do..
    O. a day goes by so fast and I started this post this morning and it is now time to go to bed... It isn't quite as cold out but it is snowing on top of the snow we do have. which actually isn't much but it has stayed a pretty long time.
Betsaflygallery@yahoo.com  (she is listed under my subscriptions)  has got a site where she posts a different subject every 2 weeks.  It is NOT a contest, just a place to post a photo if you have one, on the subject she posts.  I sent her one of clouds and she put it on her site this week,  If you like photography visit her site, it is interesting.
I was going to finish this tonight but on second thought I am getting tired so I think I'll post this tomorrow.
Well it is tomorrow...... which reminds me of my granddaughter when she was little. They came to visit us one time on a Thursday afternoon and was going to leave on Saturday. On Saturday morning, she came to me and announced.  "We're going home today, because when we came Daddy said we'll go home day after tomorrow.  Since yesterday was tomorrow, that means we're going home today"  Who says tomorrow never comes.

I got another letter from Sheila this week and a poem about her baby witch I think is pretty sweet.  She is the mommy of one of my great granddaughters.  I've got a picture to post with it.  I didn't take the picture but my granddaughter-in-law did.  (Is there a such a thing as a granddaughter-in-law?) It is one of my great grandchildren.    A little girl. I think the lighting on the picture is great.

    Baby Awakening...

Her small head rises from the sheet.
                    And turns,
                                    to show the pinker cheek.
    She sighs a little,
                    sleepy still,
Her small feet crossed, her knees tucked up,
            As babies will.
    Her bottom in the air.
She opens lazy eyes.  Her teddy bear,
Awake all night, return a stare.
The stretch that just crept up her back
    Is pushing through her lips.
                                        She y-a-w-n-s.
    And shoves a dimpled fist
                    Against her eyes.
    Time         to ...rise,
She turns.  And squirms.   And sits.
    And contemplates the teddy's charms.
                        Yawn.
    Not this time, perhaps another,
    Little arms
                    stretch to meet
    The high crib's-edge
                        as little feet
    Push, plump, against the sheet.
    She stands a bit.
                She sways a bit.
    she talks about it.
                        Just a bit.
    Another... y-a-w-n...
                Another..... sigh.....
And then the early morning cry
                    For mother...

Well it snowed some more last night making 5 or 6 inches, that place a coverlet on the ground.  It is beautiful yet dangerous to drive in.  Although it bring up in me a desire to to capture some of it on film.
I'd best forget it before I beak a leg.

A thought from the psalmist David about our God to brighten the day and make one go through the day with peace....

    Psalm 91:1 & 2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him will I will trust."

  • Your job sounds very interesting.  Its nice to have a job where you don't have to punch the time clock.  It would be nice to have pictures of you at your work.  The picture and poem of you grand baby are wonderful.  You can just about see the baby stretching as you read it.  Take it easy in the snow.  Love, Ruth

  • That is theeee most precious baby picture ... so perfect ... even the lighting! I very much enjoyed the poem too ... what a lovely granddaughter you have. I also enjoyed the 'tag' and photos. You have lived quite a life young lady ;)
