  • ROOM 326

    O’re the snake river and through the desert. - To another surgery we go. - The car knows the way, and Pop does too.  - As down I-84 we go.

    Over the river and through the desert, - My how the sun does shine: - It’s hot today, as we go our way, - And the temp says ninety-nine.

    Over the river and through the desert, - Now the hospital I do spy; - It isn’t much fun, Is the doctor done: - Hours later, we breathe a sigh.

    Down at the hospital, in room 326 - Pop spent the night alone - We’re happy today, as we go on our way. - ‘Cause today we bring him home.

    As you might guess Pop had his 4th surgery yesterday and he has 3 or 4 more to go He has been hospitalized 4 times, and in day surgery 2 times.

    Yesterday he had a large kidney stone removed  ( almost an inch in size) also the doctor removed the stint they had put in and couldn't find the last time he had a procedure done.  This time caused him more pain than he had the last times. We brought him home today around 2pm.  My son and his wife are staying with us this time.  For which I am very thankful.  If I felt good I think I could do it alone, the way it is I'm kinda scared I can't take care of him right with 2 tubes placed in his back (kidneys)  He sometimes get dizzy when he gets up and I'm sure I couldn't hold him up if he would fall.  The road ahead is getting shorter and I'm in awe how my God has been with us.

    Blessed is a nation whose God is the Lord.  Psalm 33:12 - America, America! God shed His grace on thee.....     and now we pray for mercy.  PRAY for our nation!

  • Love your poetry!  And I'm so glad the road is looking shorter -- the end is in sight.  Feels good, doesn't it?  Well, you probably have mixed reactions to that -- feels good to see the end, but wish you were already there!  Continuing to pray for you and Pops.

  • So Mrs. Darling inherited her poetic talents from her dear sweet mom!  That was a mighty large kidney stone Pop had removed ... ouch!!!  Crank up the a/c and rest a spell with your helpful family there to help.  You are blessed to have such support!  More prayers for you and Pop are needed ... so I've got to run.

  • It is to be very HOT, so rest, and enjoy the cool breeze of the a/c...I am praying for you and your husband, may he recover swiftly and with ease...God Bless

  • I thought you said you can't do poetry.  That sounded real good ... a whole lot better than I can do.  Of course I haven't tried for a long time.  Maybe that's our problem.  I have a niece and several nephews who do a great job with it.  Check out my sister's site (http://www.xanga.com/ThisIsLoretta) for a poem that my nephew wrote.

  • I enjoyed your poetry. Praying that God will help you and your husband through all the surgery. You have a winning attitude!

    I'm glad you are praying for our country too. I think we live in perilous times but I need to remember God's got it all worked out already. It's hard for me to see things happen and not worry.

  • My thoughts are with you so often! Wish I could come over across the pass and enjoy your company! I dreamed I was in the old house on the ridge the other nite! memories~wish to go back sometimes! I'm glad Pop is doing better--pray for the sale of moms house so we can move her closer--the drive to Mac nearly weekly is getting long and I can't wait to have mom closer! Tell Pop we love him and are praying--love to you too and BIG HUGS!!!!

  • God's mercies are new every morning.  He gives us the protion that we need moment by moment.I will continue to pray for you and Pop.  {{HUGS}}

  • Hello Virginia ... I'm so sorry I haven't gotten over sooner ... we've been so busy, although that's no real excuse ... but I wanted to thank you so much for coming by, and I'm glad to hear you were blessed by that recent post! I know I want the Lord to change me, and when I read that, it really spoke to my heart, as well. I do hope you received the message about the beautiful lighthouse cards that you sent!  Thank you ... they are absolutely beautiful!!

    You told the story well here, through your poetry ... I pray your father is doing better since this post ... he will be in my prayers, as too, will you! My mother-in-law is due to go in for gallbladder surgery soon ... she has also had numerous surgeries, so I do know somewhat of what you're going through. It is hard, but God has been with us, and with them through it all ... His Mercy endureth forever, as does His everlasting Love!  In Him we find our strength!

    Thank you, also, for your prayers for Elizabeth!  She had a rough weekend with her treatment on Friday, so we spent Saturday making her comfortable.  She had another one today, and I've yet to hear how she's doing ... I'll be seeing her, again, very soon!  Her faith is strong, and her attitude through all of this is so amazing!

    And yes, we are definitely praying for this nation ... we know not what the future holds, but there is comfort in knowing Who holds the future!  You have a blessed week, my friend!
