  • THIS IS NOT NORMAL

This is not my normal way of posting, but a friend sent it to me via email and I just can't pass it up.....

    THE COMPUTER SWALLOWED  GRANDMA

    The computer swallowed grandma.
    Yes, honestly its true!
    She pressed 'control' and 'enter'
    And disappeared from view.

    It devoured her completely,

The thought just makes me squirm.
She must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.

I've  searched through the recycle bin
    And  files of every kind;
    I've even used the Internet,
    But nothing did I find.

In desperation, I asked Mrs. Darling
    My searches to refine.
The reply from her was negative,

Not a thing was found 'on line.'

    So, if inside your 'Inbox,'
    My Grandma you should see,
    Please 'Copy,''Scan' and 'Paste' her
And send her back to me.

This is a tribute to all the Grandmas who have been fearless and learned to use the:

    Computer........  They are the greatest!!!

    We do not stop playing because we grow old;
We grow old because we stop playing.
NEVER Be The First To Get Old!

This is kinda silly, and I don't think it goes well with Bible verses, maybe tomorrow.......

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child: but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

  • Very cute.

And the wedding cake story is amazing!  And it's beautiful

My grandma used to make wedding cakes.  She made my mother's, and mine and my sister's.  They were perfect

  •   This may help explain it better - I was a "normal", strong-willed wife at the first.  I am not perfect, but He has done great things for me.  My dh maintains I was always a good bargain (I say my dad sold me to the highest bidder   ), but I got the better deal really.   Anyway, this is my favorite line from the play, and I just calligraphied it (and matted and framed it) for a friends wedding gift:

"Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper,
thy head, thy sovereign; one who cares for thee and for thy maintanence.
Commits his body to painful labor by sea and by land,
to watch the night in storm, the day in cold,
while thou liest warm at  home, secure and safe...
craves no other tribute at thy hands than love,
fair looks, and true obedience, too little payment for so great a debt."
~The Taming of the Shrew- Act 5 Scene 2

    Now is that not perfect

  • Very nice. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.

  • Had to pop over to catch up on your blog. Many happy belated wishes are sent to you and Pop: Mother's Day, Birthday, etc. I was feeling inadequate as a mother today and felt much better reading your posts about moms.

  • I popped over from Taming of the Shrew's site.  I loved the poem!

  • Didn't you just love that e-mail!!! LOL--you entered my mind when I read it!=) LOL
